Great Start to the End of a Great Week

Southeast Leadership Camp concludes this morning, but it is just the beginning. We are so thankful for all the young men and women who participated. We are grateful for all that worked hard this week in support of Spencer and David to make the camp successful again this year. It would be difficult to name everyone, but we give thanks for all who taught classes, provided instruction and mentoring, chaperones for extracurricular events, our host families, and all who cooked and served lunch and dinner each day.
We are blessed this morning to have many of the young men and women campers apply what they learned this week. The young men will teach the adult auditorium class and lead the congregation in morning worship services. The young ladies will be teaching a ladies’ class and K-5 children’s classes.

We are encouraged by their desire to serve God; let us encourage them to keep learning and growing in the faith.

There is no better time than now to ensure that we are equipping our youth with biblical knowledge and skills to “rightly divide the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). This foundation will provide solid ground for our youth to stand on and help them weather the storms that will come their way. Equipping our youth with a strong biblically sound background will allow them to confidently carry the good news of the gospel forward for years to come.

May our youth be encouraged by Paul’s words to the young Timothy.

“Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all. Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you” (1 Timothy 4:12-16; 2 Timothy 1:6)
