I know you are thinking that by the use of BP I am talking about British Petroleum, but I am not. For each of us, BP can mean to strive to be Blameless and Perfect. The scriptures talk about this in I Thessalonians 5:23, ” Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” John 17:23 also says, ” I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.”
We know the references to being blameless and perfect do not mean we are to have no faults and be without sin. However, these verses do refer to our daily living as righteous people and being made complete in Christ. The outcome of conducting ourselves in this manner is to influence the world in such a way they will know that Jesus is the Son of God and God loves us. Do we daily think about the impact we may be having on those around us and on those with whom we associate?
In Steve’s sermon Sunday, he spoke about what he really wanted. He wished to say “thank you,” to solicit our prayers and to cooperate in all that is planned to be accomplished for the Lord here at Karns. If each of us will decide today that we too are going to be thankful for all things, prayerful for all that needs to be done, and personally involved in the Lord’s work, who knows just how much we can achieve as the Lord’s people?
