Twas the Day After Christmas

By Gary Woodall

`Twas the day after Christmas and all through the church every creature was stirring, for souls to save they searched. They found friends, and neighbors They proclaimed the gospel and worked hard at their labors. Helping those who had been enslaved …from their sins to be saved. They said “it was small work for me But souls were saved for eternity!”

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation” (Mark 16:15, NASB).

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations” (Matthew 28:19-20, NASB).

“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5, NASB).

“My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples” (John 15:8, NASB).

Therefore, my brethren, you also were made to die to the Law through the body of Christ, so that you might be joined to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God (Emphasis mine) (Romans 7:4, NASB).

Well, here it is the day after Christmas, are you stirring about planting the seed and working on saving souls?

“Are you sowing the seed of the kingdom, brother In the morning bright and fair? Are you sowing the seed of the kingdom, brother In the heat of the noonday’s glare? … in the still and solemn night? …all along the fertile way? For the harvest time is coming on And the reaper’s work will soon be done Will your sheaves be many? Will you garner any For the gath’ring at the harvest home?” (Adapted from the song by Fred Fillmore)

Let’s make 2022 a banner year in the history of the Karns church and the lives of those who are lost. Let’s seize every opportunity to learn and teach. Let’s all be sure to participate anyway we can in the American Mission Campaign coming up in the summer of 2022.

Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest” (Matthew 9:37-38, NASB).
