Please Take This Quiz

Did you know that not everyone who professes to be a follower of Jesus is committed to the task of discipleship? I’m sure most of us know that to be true. But what I might not realize, due to self-deception, is that this may describe my own relationship with the Lord. Consider the following and ask yourself if any of these items apply to you.

Could it be said of you that… You revere the Bible, but rarely read it? You believe the 10 Commandments, but would be unable to list all ten? You love God, but don’t abhor sin? You want to wear a crown, but don’t want to carry a cross? You want a Savior, but don’t want a Lord? You want a harvest, but won’t sow any seed? You want Hollywood to clean up its act, but go see the movies, regardless? You want to go to Heaven, but don’t want to go to church? You want to be served, but don’t want to serve? You want spiritual growth, but don’t want to feed on his word for nourishment? You want God to be your Father, but don’t want to be disciplined like his child? You want a relationship with Jesus, but don’t want to be tied down to a church? You want a preacher to “tell it like it is,” but you sometimes do as you please? You want to seek God first, but he frequently comes second on your social calendar?

Did any of those questions hit home? If so, you’re just like me and have some refining that needs to take place within your character. But what a blessing it is to work on refining our character while being a part of such a committed group of disciples here at Karns! Whether you’ve been at Karns a short time or a long time, don’t miss the opportunities that exist here! I have never been a part of such a focused, mature, and spiritual group of Christians. The environment here is right for spiritual growth. Let’s do it together!
