2022 Leadership Camp

By Spencer Clark

Today marks the end of the 18th annual Southeast Leadership Camp at Karns. We had a total of 50 students participate from four states, representing about 11 congregations. This year’s theme was “Overflow” which focused on the internal characteristics of the heart that would “overflow” into one’s daily Christian life.

The students took classes on attitudes and mindset, sermon & lesson preparation, how to teach Bible classes, K-5 education, conflict management, podcasting and media, evangelism, and personal devotional habits, just to name a few. This year, a few students delivered their lessons in a podcast format and learned about the importance of reaching digital audiences in the modern world.

Saturday, the students presented their lessons they had been working on all week and today some of those will be teaching our Sunday morning Bible classes and leading in worship. Many of our young ladies will be teaching and assisting in the K-5 classes. Make sure you take the opportunity to encourage them and congratulate them on their efforts.

I want to personally thank all the teachers, staff members, cooks, chaperones, and other helpers who made this year’s camp go smoothly. You helped make this camp what it is, and I am grateful for all your hard work and many hours put into this week.

We are looking forward to the 2023 edition of Southeast Leadership Camp on June 4-11, 2023. Please keep this program in your prayers as we strive to develop future leaders for the Lord’s church.
