Our society is currently experiencing many emotions including emptiness, loss, confusion, and anger. The Father provides refuge, so how can we the Church help others see God’s goodness too?
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16)
What should others see in us that will move them to want to know God? They must observe that…
We are distinct from the world and offer hope for something better; “Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,” (Philippians 2:14-15).
We love God and will keep his commandments (John 14:15, Ecclesiastes 12:13); after all, the Father knows what is best for all mankind.
We keep the first and greatest commandment to love God with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind; and we keep the second greatest commandment to love our neighbor as ourselves (Mathew 22:35-40, Mark 12:28-34, Luke 10:27).
We love our fellow brother (I John 4:20-21), and our actions confirm it (Galatians 6:10, Ephesians 4:2).
Our community is looking for answers to the troubles in this life. What will they see when they look towards the Karns Church of Christ?
Let’s be a light to our community in word and in deed, especially now, so that others may be drawn to God. Let’s be doers in accordance with the Word (James 1:22), so that our light shines and others cannot help but want to be a part of the Kingdom.
The shepherds love you and pray for you. Please continue to pray for us.
