What a Blessing

What a blessing it was to be a part of our Southeast lectureship this year. There were reunions of the many friendships made over the last 37 years of lectureships which took place here at Karns. The subject, “Lord, Make Me a Servant” was very well done and presented challenges for improvement to us all. The speakers were excellent and well studied in their assigned subject areas. Sunday morning’s official count was 492 with 8 responses and at Monday’s lunch we served 362 people. This year we were further strengthened by participating in an open forum moderated by David Pharr where we discussed relevant issues and questions pertinent to Christianity today. There was a tremendous variety of Bible materials and works from around the world to view and learn about all throughout the building. All in all, this was perhaps one of the best attended and best presented lectureships we have ever had at Karns.

All of this would not have been possible without the diligent efforts put forth in planning by the Southeast and Church staff. Our Southeast students were seen everywhere helping in many ways to make things happen and turn out well. There was a host of volunteers from among you, members at Karns, who were critical to fulfilling all the needs required for this great work to be accomplished. Be assured that many of our guests expressed their amazement and appreciation for the cooperation and quality of the work they witnessed which was performed by you.

The elders are indeed blessed to have our church family and school family working closely together to bring about a successful lectureship that was appreciated by the brotherhood at large. We thank you and count you a blessing.
