We’re Not All Here!

I know we have heard of the concept of continuous improvement and most of us think the Japanese invented the idea. But it all began with our Lord and Savior who will work with us to continuously improve our work until He comes again.

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6).

Cindy provides us (elders) with the attendance information each week and we also get quarterly totals. For the quarter ending in September we had 448 people who attended at least one Sunday a.m. service. Yes, this means if everyone were to attend on the same Sunday we would have 448 members in the pews (not counting visitors). This is good news, but you may want to know that our average attendance for all Sundays in the quarter is only 66%. This means some are at 100% (attended all services) and some are at 8% (attended 1 service) and others are anything in between. We can do better! Based on our average of 66% and total possible of 448 our computed average is 296 attending members.

Our visitors this year have been much more than you would think. We have had as many as 57 and as few as 6 visitors on any given Sunday, averaging 31 per week. So with our average members of 296 and average visitors of 31 that means we averaged 327 in total attendance for each Sunday this quarter. Have you met some of our visitors? Please make every effort to meet and greet those honoring us with a visit.

Our Lord required of those who had been given a certain number of talents to gain more talents, and so we having many members are expected to use those members for gain in His service. We have to be together and serve together to be productive and gain more. Please decide today to be more faithful in your attendance so we can encourage each other in being more pleasing to God as we strive to continuously improve in our service to Him.
