To Karns and Beyond

In the Disney/Pixar Movie “Toy Story”, the character Buzz Lightyear would often exclaim, “To Infinity and Beyond”. In saying this he would imply that things go well beyond our present place and circumstances. Well, many of the things we do here at Karns also go way beyond our own four walls. I am so glad for all the good things we do at Karns that are worthy of sharing with others so that they too may be blessed to do likewise. Recently I was asked to deliver a lesson to other elders at the first annual M2Y (Ministering to Youth) Conference in Orlando. I shared with them our Karns Vision Book that we use to get everyone on the same page in our various ministries for the Lord. I told them of our approach to a family-based student ministry and of our close working relationship with our ministers. I shared with them the great participation we have in our ministries and many of these elders in attendance were impressed with you and the successes we have enjoyed together for the Lord.

Just last week the elders at West End (Knoxville) invited me to share with them and their missions committee the approach we utilize at Karns relative to mission work. I shared with them the work we have done and are doing in Honduras and St. Croix. They were astounded at the number of folks we have participating in these works and they were overwhelmed by the amount of work we get done on these mission trips.

We have shared these things with others so that they also may do likewise and further the cause of Christ even beyond what we can do alone here at Karns. To God be the glory as we all (Christians everywhere) work to please Him.

And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also (2 Timothy 2:2).
