There’s No Place like Home!

Whenever I hear someone say, “There’s no place like home,” I cannot help but think about those famous words as they were spoken by Dorothy in the movie The Wizard of Oz. For Sherrye and me, those words ring so true. As most of you know, we have just returned from spending a couple of weeks in New York City for Sherrye’s surgery. We do not really have anything bad to say about our treatment, the doctors, and many of the people we met while in New York; however, the culture there is not like ours here in the South. There are a lot of people, cars, taxis, sirens, honking, and just constant noise. We truly did feel like fish out of water. We really are privileged to be able to live in God’s country where we can enjoy beautiful scenery, sweet-smelling breezes and tranquil quietness.

It was so comforting to receive cards and calls from home and they always seemed to arrive just at the right time to bring encouragement and fond memories of our family back home. It is impossible to find the words that can adequately express just how great it feels to be back home and once again fellowship with our family here at Karns. You may never be able to fully realize the blessings that come from being a part of the family here, but it is my hope and prayer that we all come to appreciate one another and always strive to be an encouragement to each other.

Sherrye and I wish to express our heartfelt thanks to each and every one who has helped us through this present distress in our lives. We are so appreciative of all the cards, calls, visits, meals, and yard work given by so many of you. We are forever grateful and we pray for you daily. There’s no place like home.

Do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers, Ephesians 1:16
