This fall, we are entering a season of new beginnings. The leaves are changing, football is in the air, and school is back in full swing. Here at Karns, we are also launching our fall season of fellowship events and activities. We must be careful not to slip back into old patterns of thinking about ourselves instead of others. I encourage you to consider not just “What can I get out of this?” but also how we can use these events as opportunities to fulfill our mission as Christians to reach the lost.
- Fall Festival (Fri, Oct 17) — Join us for Trunk or Treat starting at 6:30 PM. Bring plenty of candy, decorate your vehicle, and invite your friends! Even if you don’t have children, you are welcome to come and enjoy fellowship. This is a great time to connect with others and introduce them to our church family.
- Ladies’ Day (Sat, Oct 25) — Our annual Ladies’ Day is a wonderful opportunity for our ladies to invite their friends for in-depth studies of God’s word. The lessons will focus on “Serving God in Every Season of Life,” presented by our own Deirdra Miller.
- Fall Door Knocking (Sat, Nov 1) — Join us for our annual door-knocking event. Even if you have never participated before, we can pair you with someone experienced to help you get familiar with the process.
For some, feeling a sense of belonging is essential before they become Christians. Once they feel they belong, they are more likely to engage in studies and faith conversations and remain involved afterward. It’s important for us to recognize this opportunity and take advantage of it. As Jesus said,
Lift up your eyes and see that the fields are white for harvest (John 4:35).
Our Lord calls us to make disciples. The fields are ready for harvest. The question is, will you rise up and help us reach the lost?
