Proper Perspective

By the time you are reading this we should have our new carpet installed. Thanks to everyone for your contribution towards its cost. We hope that this will be received as an appropriate enhancement to our auditorium. To keep things in their proper perspective please consider the following Scriptures and thoughts:

Matthew 6:31 “Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?'” – As a church let’s not worry unnecessarily about the physical attributes of our building.

Matthew 6:33 “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” – As a church let’s keep our focus on God and serving Him.

Colossians 3:1-2 “Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.” – As a church let’s keep our priorities in check.

As we go through many changes here at Karns let’s all remember to keep things in their proper perspective. We may have decided that we like or dislike the newly painted walls or the new carpet or the sign that is soon to come. But let’s be sure we all recognize that these things only represent paint, a floor covering, and a tool for the community to know about us. Our goal and purpose as a family of God is to lead others to Christ and live as much like Him as we can ourselves.

The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
