This past week, a group of just over forty of us traveled across the state for our Summer Advance. We worshiped, laughed, and enjoyed being God’s people together. The verses that seemed to ring through all the lessons were Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
We discussed things like who our Crew Chief is, who is in our pit crew, regular patience in our spiritual lives, and simply the journey we are on with all its twists and turns. We concluded our weekend with a reminder to keep our eyes focused on the prize while not forgetting the ones we were supposed to take with us.
Some simple takeaways from the weekend. When God is the one guiding, we can never be lost. Pit stops are essential for our spiritual walks because they keep us firmly on the way we should go. Our pit crew helps determine our future, so we should surround ourselves with the right friends, or we will never make it. In life, we will encounter many roadblocks, but the good news is that when we think the road is blocked, God has a detour that leads to something better. Our Crew Chief is whoever we choose, whether we choose Christ or the world. However, remember that the Crew Chief determines how your race will go, so make sure you make the right choice.
This ministry is a blessing to be a part of. Weekends like these remind me of why I love what I do, and I can’t wait for the next twist along the path.
