Leadership Camp

The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also (2 Timothy 2:2).

Likewise urge the young men to be sensible; in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified, sound in speech which is beyond reproach, so that the opponent will be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us (Titus 2:6-8).

In Titus 2:3-5, we read that women are instructed, among other things, to be reverent, to be teachers of good, and to train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be sensible, pure, and kind, to be workers at home, and to be subject to their husbands, so that the word of God is not dishonored.

It is often said that leaders should always be developing new leaders; otherwise, they are not truly leading.  This is so true.  A lapse in sound leadership can result in catastrophe.

Leadership, whether in the church, at home, or in society, is critically important. This past week, we witnessed and participated in the teaching and reinforcement of this concept for our youth and for youth from around the brotherhood. We observed the implementation of 1 Timothy 2 and Titus 2.

They were assisted in growing in their relationship with the Lord, developing leadership skills to effectively serve local congregations. They worked long hours each day on developing the ability to apply God’s Word in their daily lives and on being able to prepare lessons for presentation.  This year, they even learned how to prepare and present a VBS!

You all, by your presence, contributions, and encouragement, were a part of this.  So many did so much I would surely miss some, but a special thanks goes out to all who helped with meals, lodging, teaching, chaperoning, cleaning up, etc., etc..   A special thanks to Christian and Abbie Frans for directing this incredibly demanding task.  Well done!
