On September 27, 2009, it was announced that I would be moving to Karns to work with the church. At that time, this move seemed so far away. However, the time is now upon us. As I write this article, I have only 17 days left in Glasgow. This life change will be difficult in many respects, but we’re excited to get this transition behind us.
Several people have asked us how we can think of leaving so many good friends and good memories behind us. My answer is that we aren’t. We’re taking those with us. We love our friends in Glasgow and cherish all the good memories, and always will, but we’re also excited about making new friends and creating many more good memories with the brethren at Karns.
As this time of transition comes to an end, I want to take this opportunity to thank the elders and the church for being so patient and understanding. I cannot tell you how much it means to us for you to allow our children to finish the school year here in Glasgow, and in particular, Michael to graduate. We are indebted!
If I can make one request of you, I would ask that you pray and request that God open doors of opportunity for the church at Karns. What good things might we be able to accomplish when we combine our desire and zeal with God’s providential help?
