For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, “`I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.'” And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed. And the word of the Lord was spreading throughout the whole region (Acts 13:47-49).
I have no doubt that these folks were excited about the Good News that had been brought to them and the salvation it offered. They were so excited that they shared the Gospel throughout the whole region. We are expanding the borders of our facility to accommodate our growing family and those who are yet to come. As we expand the building may we each be cognizant of the need to expand the borders of God’s kingdom. We all need to seek and exercise every opportunity to shine our Christian lights in all the dark places of this world. This is a very exciting time at Karns, not just for all the activity of the construction around us and what is to be, but also for the activities of every member working in the Lord’s church and the fruits it will bear. God continues to bless us with increased growth in new family members. Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 3 that God gives the increase, but we must plant and water in God’s field. As mentioned in our Vision book for 2018 we should:
Plant and water the seed of God’s word through increased evangelism and follow-up.
Let our light shine in the community so that our neighbors see our good works and glorify God (Matthew 5:16).
Show our faith by our works in the community, nation and abroad (James 2:18).
Be kindly affectionate to our church family and to our visitors (Romans 12:10). I’m so excited and I hope that you are too.
