Homecoming 2019

Today is Homecoming at the Karns church of Christ. Our church family welcomes you as honored guests.

We are happy that you chose to be with us to worship and honor God, the Father and to remember the great sacrifice made by his Son and Savior, Jesus Christ.

This congregation is a result of a gospel meeting conducted by Billy (Bill) Nicks, a young preacher from Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The gospel meeting (tent meeting) resulted in nine souls being added to the Lord’s Church. The Karns church of Christ began meeting in July 1953 and continues to be a family of God to this day. We are grateful for the vision of those who believed that this community needed the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Homecomings are a great blessing, because friends and family are reunited, new friendships are established, and sometimes those who are distant “come home” (Luke 15:4-7). As Christians and part of God’s family, we look forward to our Homecoming with the Father when Christ returns.

“For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height– to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:14-21

Do you belong to God’s family, the body of Christ? If not, we hope you are encouraged by being here today and will desire to know more.
