God created each one of us in his image, but as humans, we are all very different. We all see things differently, handle situations differently, and we like and dislike many different things.
Regardless, there is one thing we can and should agree on, God’s word!
The Bible is God’s Instruction Manual given to us in his wisdom. His word is true and righteous. It tells us everything we need to know to reach our eternal goal, to live with him throughout eternity. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16). Psalm 119:160 also says, “The entirety of Your word is truth.”
His word should guide us. “That the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:17).
His word is living and powerful. “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12).
His word makes us stronger in our faith. “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Hebrews 10:17).
These are just a few things we learn from his word. We can know with confidence that these things are just as true today as they were when he inspired the apostles to pen them.
Jesus prayed for himself, for his apostles, and for us today. “That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us” (John 17:21). He prayed for us to know him and to be unified through him, through his word.
Let us commit ourselves to prayer and the study of his word so that we may have a stronger faith and a stronger family together in Christ. Ephesians 3:15 says, “from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named.”
