God’s Mountains

As I am writing this article I have returned from Pigeon Forge after attending a CPA conference this week. Sherrye and I were able to go to Cades Cove before the conference began and truly enjoyed the beauty of God’s creation. The mountains and the trees are in full array and the tapestry God has woven across the mountain setting is beautiful. I am reminded of Genesis 2:4, which says “This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made earth and heaven.” With such wonderful views and sunny mornings we can easily say, “This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24).

Other verses that come to mind in this setting are:

The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork (Psalm 19:1).

The mountains melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth (Psalm 97:5).

For behold, He who forms mountains and creates the wind And declares to man what are His thoughts, He who makes dawn into darkness And treads on the high places of the earth, The LORD God of hosts is His name (Amos 4:13).

Taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him (Psalm 34:8)!

Praise the LORD! How blessed is the man who fears the LORD, Who greatly delights in His commandments (Psalm 112:1).

As we all continue in our daily Christian walk please take a little time to look upon the hills and see the beauty that surrounds us and give all praise and glory to God for his provisions.
