God Gives the Increase!

The year 2017 has certainly been a year of change for us here at Karns. The tree has come down, the house has been removed, the school staff is occupying the basement, the elders are meeting in the library, our resource room and many of our classrooms have been relocated to accommodate the growth the Lord has brought our way.

We are experiencing what Paul described in 1 Corinthians 3:6-9:

I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building.

For years we have had many members planting seed and many others have watered and God has given us the increase. So far in 2017 we have 11 who have put on Christ in baptism and 54 other folks who have been added to our family by casting their lot with us. Our community continues to grow and we need to keep growing with it. There are many souls who have not yet heard the Good News and we need to be busy sharing it with as many as we can reach.

With all of the construction activities happening here at the building, our community will be well aware of our expansion effort. This will provide each of us an opportunity to talk about our growth and our desire for them to be a part of God’s family with us.

We have over 170 children from cradle roll to high school all needing classroom space and teachers to guide them. Many of our classes that were once combined by various age groups are now needing to be separated into smaller groups by age due to sheer numbers. These are good problems to have, but it also should make us aware of the necessity to accommodate the needs of all who will come to worship and study with us.

Here we grow!
