Glad to Be Here!

No matter your choice of attending the first or the second worship service, we want your attitude to be such that you can truthfully say, “I was glad to be here.”

Now that we are fully involved in having two Sunday morning worship services, there are some things we should keep in mind. Although there may have been some notion that the first service would be slightly abbreviated to accommodate the transition to the 9 a.m. Bible class, that service is still for our worship to God and should receive our full commitment. Considering this, we are adjusting the first service to end at 9 a.m. This will allow time for that service to be just as filled with content worthy for our worship. Class will now start at 9:10 and end at 9:50, leaving some transition time for the second service. Our desire is to provide an environment where both worship services can receive our fullest attention and devotion to the Lord.

But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth” (John 4:23-24).

In this context, Jesus stated that God wants people to be “true worshipers” (4:23). Christ then set forth the elements that were to constitute worship with which God would be pleased. Those elements were object, attitude, and action (4:24). The proper object of worship is God. The right attitude is in spirit. And the standard by which acts of worship are to be measured is the truth. All these elements are crucial.

The more alike we can arrange our two worship services the more we all can worship alike as a family. Therefore, for either service we can all truly say, “I was glad to be here.” Soon we will all be back together, worshipping together as one big family. Pray that it comes sooner than later.
