Eli had surgery to repair a torn labrum and was released to play baseball 2 days before his senior season. He was way behind in hitting because he hadn’t swung a bat in 5 months. He told me it was ok because the coach was going to use him as runner and he would do his best in this role.
What if we had this kind of attitude in our walk with Christ?
In 1 Corinthians 12, Paul tells us each part of the body is important and brings an important gift to the body. Paul tells us it takes all of us working together to achieve the goals of the church. The body will be so much more productive for the kingdom and it would be so much easier on the body if all parts add their gift to the work being done.
We are called to be one body in unity. When one part suffers, all suffer. When one rejoices, all rejoice. No parts are less important and no parts are more important. When we commit to this teaching the inspired writer Paul wrote, the body will be stronger and accomplish so much more.
We should strive to find areas to work, serve, and use our gifts. There are so many different areas and works going on at Karns to be involved in. I have grown so much working with the youth. I have made lifelong memories working and serving with this godly group of people.
I know we will grow in knowledge and truth working together for his cause. Let us all challenge ourselves to step up and step out of our comfort zone to grow individually and help strengthen the body of Christ. Let us use our God-given talents to share the truth of the gospel with a struggling world.
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching” (Hebrews 10:24-25).
