Daily Religion

“And he said to them, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”

In Luke 9:23, we are reminded by the Lord to “take up (our) cross DAILY” – not just on the first day of the week, but every day.  In this article, we will take a closer look at some daily items that may get neglected.

Daily Prayer – “Give us this day our daily bread” (Matthew 6:11).  This verse comes from the prayer that Jesus taught them, instructing them to ask for their daily bread. From this, we learn that we need to pray daily if we need bread daily.    Picture a Christian – one who loves the Lord with all his heart, soul, mind, and strength, who receives from the hand of a loving Father every blessing of life – never returning thanks for the blessings he receives, nor does he ask for help and protection of Him that holds the universe in His hands. Some do not even bother or take the time to thank the Lord for any of their meals.

Daily Additions – “…And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved” (Acts 2:47). Do we make any effort to share Jesus with anyone outside of when we meet? Are individual members of the church putting forth any effort to convert their friends and neighbors?

Again, as we look at ourselves, let us take note if our daily example will lead lost humanity to the Lord.
