The 2018 Southeast Institute of Biblical Studies Lectureship has ended and is now in the books. Speaking of books, there are copies of the Lectureship books available, please consider purchasing one for your library.
The event began last Sunday morning at the West End congregation with a presentation from Bro. Baggett. We are indeed grateful to the West End elders and members for so willingly hosting our lectureship during our construction.
One thing I love about the lectureship is seeing folks I haven’t seen in a while, and this did not change even though the location was different. I delight in conversation with ministers, friends, past students, and vendors.
There were many excellent lectures throughout the daily sessions, some made by former students of the school. The evening lectures ended each night with keynote presentations by exceptional speakers on the theme: Hope: Longing for Jesus. The presentations were at the level we have come to expect from lectureship keynotes. We were not disappointed.
One thing that is noticeable year after year is the effort put forth by the students to make the lectureship the best it can be. I want to thank them. I also appreciate all of the members of the Karns congregation who volunteer year after year. I want to thank Will and the staff for their outstanding efforts in making the lectureship a success.
If you are a member of the Karns congregation and did not attend the lectures, you missed out on one of the best benefits being a member of Karns can offer.
